Audiovisual text transcriptions
Transcription takes care of transforming any video or audio content into text. Thanks to this service we can perform tasks such as:
- Transform something that has been said into text.
- Distribute relevant information about the content of a presentation, interview or speech.
- Free up storage space occupied by recordings.
- Save any information in a database. By transforming audiovisual information into text, you can analyze the document more quickly, obtain data more quickly, and quickly reach conclusions about the speech or presentation.
- Be able to read the information at a later time.
Today there are online transcription applications, even Google’s own search engine has one integrated. These applications are capable of transcribing what the user is saying into the microphone. However, we cannot expect perfect results. Like translations, it is important that the transcription is completely faithful to the original words and successfully conveys our objective.
There are several types of transcription:
Verbatim transcription: It is the most exact type of transcription, because in it all the sounds that are heard are transcribed into the document, including unfinished, repeated words, pronunciation errors, that is, everything that is exactly said in the audio. This type of transcript is the one used in trials or expert evidence in which any detail may be relevant.
Natural transcription: Offers more flexibility than literal transcription, since it eliminates anything that is considered irrelevant. In this way the information appears intact, but results in a more natural and clearer text when reading it. These types of transcripts are often used, for example, in interviews.
Phonetic transcription: The phonetic transcription transcribes the sounds into symbols that the person can pronounce in their language, that is, the sounds are transcribed according to international phonetic standards. The example of someone who has to present a speech in another language that he does not know is often given as an example. The solution offered is to write the text exactly as it is pronounced so that you can read it directly even without knowing if what you are saying is correct.
If what you are looking for is a professional transcription of any type of audiovisual file, we can offer you a solution adapted to your needs thanks to the support of our team of specialists.
